The fund you're in today shapes the wealth you build tomorrow
Not everyone should be in the same fund. Your goals, timeline, and risk comfort are unique — we help you find the one that fits.
What is KiwiSaver and why does your choice matter?
KiwiSaver is New Zealand's voluntary retirement savings scheme. Most people stay in the default fund they were assigned — often a conservative option that may not match their age, goals, or risk tolerance. Over a 30-year career, the difference between the right fund and the wrong one can be tens of thousands of dollars.

Quick wins and smart moves to maximise your retirement savings.
Never chose a fund? You're in a default balanced fund. There are 5 types — Defensive, Conservative, Balanced, Growth, and Aggressive. The right one depends on your age and when you'll need the money. A 25-year-old in a conservative fund could miss out on decades of higher growth.
The government adds 25c for every $1 you contribute, up to $260/year. You need to put in at least $1,042.86 between 1 July and 30 June to get the full amount. Your employee payroll deductions count — but employer contributions don't. Self-employed or on a contribution holiday? You'll need to make voluntary payments directly to your provider.
Bumping your employee contribution from 3.5% to 4.5% on a $60k salary costs about $8 a week — less than two coffees. That extra 1% goes straight into your KiwiSaver and compounds over decades. The earlier you increase it, the bigger the difference at retirement.
Your KiwiSaver returns are taxed at your Prescribed Investor Rate — 10.5%, 17.5%, or 28% based on your income. If your rate is too high, you're losing returns to unnecessary tax. IRD now reconciles this at year-end, but getting it right upfront means more money stays invested and compounding. Ask your provider or check your rate on myIR.
A fund charging 1% that returns 12% beats a 0.25% fund returning 6%. Don't just compare fees — compare what you actually get after all costs are deducted. That's the number that grows your balance.
After 3+ years as a member, you can withdraw most of your KiwiSaver for a first home. But pulling $30k at age 28 could mean ~$150k less at 65 due to lost compound growth. Property is also an asset that grows — just understand both sides before you decide.

Our Mission
Helping Kiwis make better-informed decisions for a better retirement.
Most New Zealanders are in a KiwiSaver fund they never chose, paying fees they've never checked, earning returns they've never compared. The information exists — it's just scattered across PDFs, provider websites, and government registers. We bring it together in one place so every Kiwi can make informed decisions about their retirement savings.
Find My Fund is a free, independent education platform. We believe that when people understand their KiwiSaver — what fund they're in, what it costs, and how it compares — they make better choices. Better choices compound into a better retirement.
Compare every KiwiSaver fund using publicly available data from the Disclose Register — returns, fees, holdings, risk, and provider details.
We don't sell funds, take commissions, or provide financial advice. We're an educational tool — not a financial adviser. For personalised advice, speak with a licensed adviser.
Our tools — the Leaderboard, fund comparisons, projections calculator, and fund quiz — are designed to make KiwiSaver simple and accessible for everyone, whether you've never looked at your fund or you review it every quarter.
How We Compare
Where the data comes from and how we use it.
All data on Find My Fund comes from the Disclose Register, maintained by the Companies Office. KiwiSaver providers are legally required to report their fund data quarterly — returns, fees, holdings, and fund size. We pull it, clean it, and present it so you can compare every fund in one place.
Disclose Register — regulatory compliance data that every KiwiSaver provider is legally required to report.
Quarterly — when new data is published, we update returns, fees, holdings, and fund details across the platform.
